Background of the Study
Ethics training programs are designed to instill ethical values, enhance decision-making capabilities, and promote positive workplace behavior. In healthcare institutions, where ethical dilemmas frequently arise, such training programs are essential for ensuring quality patient care, professionalism, and organizational integrity.
In Nigeria, healthcare institutions often face challenges such as resource constraints, workforce shortages, and ethical misconduct. Gombe State, with its expanding healthcare sector, presents a compelling context to study the influence of ethics training programs on workplace behavior. This study explores the extent to which ethics training improves employee conduct and aligns behavior with organizational and professional standards.
Statement of the Problem
Healthcare institutions depend on ethical behavior to maintain trust, deliver quality care, and comply with professional regulations. However, the absence of effective ethics training programs often leads to ethical lapses, reduced employee morale, and compromised patient outcomes.
Despite the importance of ethics training, there is limited empirical evidence on its impact on workplace behavior in healthcare institutions in Gombe State. This study seeks to fill this gap by evaluating the role of ethics training programs in shaping workplace behavior.
Objectives of the Study
To assess the implementation of ethics training programs in healthcare institutions in Gombe State.
